David Morris
A fully qualified accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of NSW, David enjoyed a 25 year career in international and domestic banking. A specialist in Capital Markets, David started Westpac’s Interest rate derivatives business in New York before moving to Hong Kong as the head of Asian Capital Markets. He then filled senior line management positions as Chief Financial Officer, Country Manager and State Manager for Westpac and BNP Paribas. David bought Port Stephens Strata Management Services in 2001. He was elected to the board of the ISTM in 2001 , has been a member of the board of the peak industry body ever since, the last three years as President. David also acts as an independent company director in the publicly listed financial services sector.
Ian Cook
Ian’s professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Degree from NSW Institute of Technology, a qualified Insurance Underwriter / Claims Manager and Licensed Strata and Community Schemes Manager. He has held senior management positions in the domestic and International Insurance and Reinsurance markets including commercial property management. Ian strengthened his understanding of commercial property law both locally and abroad.
After a career in Insurance spanning fifteen years, Ian moved to the property sector as a Senior Strata Manager, enjoying undertaking the management of some of the largest residential and commercial strata plans (including Community Associations) in New South Wales. With his vast knowledge of Strata and Community managements Ian brings with him a level of technical and practical knowledge rarely seen in the Strata and Community Management service provider markets and represents a huge asset to our business.
Ian is OIC of the new Facilities Management Business, charged with the responsibility of setting up the office processes and procedures, linking them to the already established processes in Port Stephens Strata Management Services to make this period of real challenge in our industry a totally seamless experience for our clients.
Heidi Thomas
Heidi is a Licensed Real Estate Agent and a Licensed Strata Manager. After a successful career in property sector spanning management and development in Sydney, Heidi returned to Port Stephens in 1998. She was the Property Manager for the local K.D Winning Real Estate (now Winning Holidays and Robinson Property), which had the largest holiday letting portfolio in Port Stephens. Heidi was attracted back to the industry, after a five year career as a Mum and combines that with strata management as the licensee in charge of Port Stephens Strata Management Services.
Kerrie Phillips
Kerrie is one of four Strata Managers attending to the needs of a portfolio of properties, providing attention and service to those Owners Corporations, liaising with proprietors and contractors to meet the needs of the schemes.
Kerrie has worked in the Strata Industry for 9 years and is well known and held in high regard by our clients, suppliers and tradesmen for her customer service orientation, and ability to get the job done against all odds. She is currently involved in managing the decision making processes on a number of complex renovation projects for older schemes wanting their buildings to perform up to standards expected for today’s life style, with CPS Projects providing the project management services to design and construct the alterations required.
Kerrie has completed the formal study requirements to match with her years of “hands on” experience and meet the certification criteria of the Department of Fair Trading.
Scott Jarman
Scott enjoyed a successful career in the Navy including time as a submariner. On leaving the service he entered the hospitality industry and his attention to detail, effective interpersonal skills and client service soon saw him as an assistant manager. After travelling with his wife for a couple of years including time in her native Scotland, Scott returned to the Hospitality sector.
Scott joined Port Stephens Strata Management Service in July 2006 and commenced training towards becoming a fully licensed Strata Managing Agent. He attained his Certificate of registration in October, with flying colours and has taken on an increasingly active role, managing our project to ensure all client owners corporations are compliant with the Fire Code, before increasing the size and complexity of Schemes in his portfolio.
Sarah Walker
After growing up on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales she moved to Newcastle to build on her education. She studied Event Management at TAFE and has a strong customer service background.
She will have been with our company for two years in June and has undertaken an active role as a Strata Manager to gain knowledge and experience, and to better her understanding of the workings of the industry. She is currently enrolled in a Licensing Strata Management course and sees every day as a valuable learning opportunity.
Robyn Killen
Robyn is a foundation staff member of PSSMS and understands the industry, the business, its clients and suppliers accordingly very well. Robyn holds a Certificate of Registration from the Department of Fair Trading, enabling her to act as a Strata Manager. In fact Robyn does not manage any properties directly but does execute delegations from Owners Corporations to 8th Generation in a number of areas relating to accounting reconciliations and insurance. Robyn is an Authorised Representative of CGU to tier one level, able under the ASIC guidelines to provide personal advice to clients. |
